Day 2 – Taking the Pills – And suffering the side effects

It has been years since I have had to take medication.  I tell you, I don’t miss it… Today is the first day I am taking the pills… I couldn’t start yesterday as I had picked up my meds quite late at night.  So this morning with breakfast, I downed my two morning pills, had breakfast and off to work I went.

One of the side effects of one of the meds, when starting to take it, is the insistent need to empty your bowels.  By the time I got to work, I had to rush to the loo, and then every hour or so… Now drinking 3 to 4 L of water a day, I am no stranger to having to relieve myself. But this was crazy.  The need tapered off towards the end of my work day, but then again, I just had dinner and had the 2nd pill for the day… let’s hope I don’t have a repeat on the side effects.

There are 2 things I need to get to make this blog a little more interesting, other than just me talking about the daily happenings.  I need to get a full body mirror, so I can document my physical changes, as well as a digital scale, so I can document my weight loss.

Not much else for Day 2…

  1. As you take more Metformin, diarea will continue and only stabilize once your liver gets used to the pills interference. The side-effects increase with the introduction of those other drugs mentioned of your first post. I told my doctor to go straight to hell and I choose to NOT have my pancreas “squeezed” (thank you very much!) and may I suggest you do the same.

After four years, I stopped taking metformin 6mths ago. It IS possible.

    1. Well, so far, the side effects only lasted the first day, although I find myself more “regular” which I do not see as a bad thing, its just regular bowel movements, so I think I have gotten past the worst of it… 6 days in and I am doing good.
